Quanto più a causa della stimolazione del Gn-RH ipotalamico aumentano i livelli ematici di FSH ed LH ipofisari, tanto più aumenta l’azione di freno da parte di queste gonadotropine sulla produzione di Gn-RH (feed-back negativo corto) e sulla stessa ipofisi (feed-back ultracorto).
Altro classico esempio di feed-back negativo e positivo si riscontra nel metabolismo dell’asse GH-IGF I-II.
